About Sheryl Rothe, (Nationally Certified ISR Instructor)

Sheryl has worked with children in various settings for over 17 years and is a mother of 4 children herself. She grew up in Colorado on a family farm and attended Colorado State University, achieving a degree in Microbiology and a Masters Degree in Adult Education.

Sheryl’s own children are accomplished swimmers and hold multiple state champion titles from 8 and under to Arizona High State Champions while obtaining Sectional cuts, swimming at the college level, and becoming USA Swim Coaches.

Additionally, many of her students are also on USA swim teams and have achieved USA state swimming and regional champion titles.

All of her children’s successes are owed to the first swim program they participated in: ISR.

My name is Rachel Lacaillade. I am a nurse of 13 years. I am married to Bronson who is a Fire Captain and has been in the fire department for almost 15 years. We were both born and raised in Tucson, AZ. We have 3 active daughters and keep very busy with their activities and events. We love to be outdoors, and often our summers are spent outside in our pool.

Growing up, we both experienced traumatic near drowning instances. My husband saved his brother from drowning, and I myself nearly drowned and was in the hospital with a chest tube. These instances forever shaped how we would view pool safety, and was the basis in what we knew we needed to do for the safety of our kids. We came across ISR and knew this was going to be the safest method for our kids, as I myself was in "regular" swim classes as a kid and then nearly drowned. We found Sheryl as our ISR instructor and Sheryl successfully instilled the ISR training/skills into all 3 of our daughters. It takes an enormous amount of worry off of our shoulders to know that my kids will be safe in the event an accident happens in the water, or if one of them were to fall into a pool. We know that they will know how to save themselves and ultimately save their life.

ISR made my kids love the water, and confident in their skills to be able to enjoy the water safely. We encourage all of our friends with kids to enroll into ISR classes, and are so happy we did. As members who serve the community, we are big advocates for ISR.

Sincerely,

Rachel Lacaillade

Alexis

I am Alexis Rothe, I am an Aerospace engineer certified in Lean six sigma. I Attended the United States Air Force Academy and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. I have been swimming for 23 years, and I competed for 19 of those years.

I have been a swim teacher, a lifeguard, and A USA Swimming Age Group Coach sending multiple swimmers to the state level championships.

I have been involved in this business for over 8 years now. I have seen the direct impact survival swimming lessons can have on a child in my own life. It gives them confidence and the ability to persevere through difficult times. It teaches them to problem solve and try new things.

I am proud to be a part of this organization helping other children learn valuable life skills and lessons like I was able to.

steven

I am Steven Rothe, I am a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

I have been swimming since I was 6 months old. During my childhood I competed in the city league during the summer and then eventually moved onto swimming year-round with USA swimming. During that time, I had the opportunity to swim with Olympians and compete in swim meets across the country.

In high school I was a part of a state championship team and state champion in the 100-yard butterfly. My performance in high school allowed for the opportunity to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy and continue competition swimming where I was all conference from my Freshman to Junior year (during my Senior year COVID prevented us from having a season).

Upon graduation I was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps. To this day I continue to swim for exercise and train for military training that places a heavy emphasis on being able to be proficient and thrive in the water for long periods of time. Swimming and the challenges that have come from this activity have helped to shape me into the man I am today. Water safety and the sport of swimming is something that everyone should be adequately proficient at.
